Dialectical Behavior Therapy — compassionate care at Ventura OCD Therapy

ABOUT VENTURA OCD THERAPY

Specialized, Evidence-Based OCD Care

Ventura OCD Therapy is a specialized psychotherapy practice focused on treatment for people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, anxiety, perfectionism, and overworking.

Treatment draws on evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT), and developmentally-informed trauma sensitive care.

Ventura OCD Therapy offers an integrative approach, allowing for the opportunity of both symptom relief and exploration of pervasive emotional and relational challenges. Therapy can be short-term with a focused number of sessions to target the most pressing concerns, or long-term and open-ended for deeper exploration and change.

Founded by Teva Johnstone, LCSW, the practice offers compassionate, individualized care for clients who need a specialist who understands obsessive-compulsive and related conditions.

In-person sessions are available in Ventura County, with secure online therapy available throughout California. Browse areas served or request a consultation.

OCD & Anxiety Therapies

How I help you recover

I work collaboratively with clients on their healing journey. Together, we address areas that feel stuck and take active steps towards a new way of being. While talking about what troubles you is important, we don't stop there. Through evidence-based methods, I help clients take concrete measures to move closer to their goals with greater self-awareness, compassion, and courage. A big part of what I do is helping people approach what they've been avoiding, while using skills to reduce anxiety and stop overthinking. Therapy is paced to your unique needs and focused on recovery from OCD, compulsive rumination, and other compulsive behavior like emotional eating.
